This book contains useful information for the novice cook, who wants to make better BIR style curries. For anyone who has studied the variety of food styles in the Subcontinent and has any cooking skill it is formulaic and to be honest a bit basic. However it will serve a useful purpose for someone wanting to make curries like the average restaurant offering so is in no way inadequate for the purpose.

"The Curry Map" is brilliant and so incredibly helpful. Now I finally understand how to cook delicious curries. After years of trying to make a tasty curry - this booklet is the guide I needed! I now understand that there are several steps in making a curry and why each step is so important. Having never fully understood what I was doing with the whole spices as well as powdered spices; I now have the expertise to create delicious aroma and flavour. Knowing how important it is to cook both the spices and the onions correctly is a game-changer. The booklet is very clearly written and includes really helpful explanations and images. Plus, including technique recipes for practise is an excellant touch. I highly recommend this e-booklet for anyone who wishes to cook great tasting curries.

Very good basic techniques

As an Indian who was taught to cook Indian food by expert relatives, this book is excellent.
I have read it all, and only lost the will when the author mentioned Madras curry powder. NO, NO NO!
DON'T EVER BUY PRE-MADE CURRY POWDERS. Buy a paste if you must, it's far better.
Otherwise this book really covers all the basic essentials. Follow the instructions and you will make great tasting food.
